It was a bank holiday AND a Fun Day and the weather was still sunny. The world moves in mysterious ways. OK it was a little cool at times but the sun shone and we had a brilliant turn out. Thank you to everyone for coming and supporting the day.
Thanks to our two dressage judges Jackie Patchett and Jackie Hagan and to Alison Reypert for coming and writing in the afternoon. We hope the competitors in the training class found the tips Jackie Patchett gave them useful. Don’t forget to do your homework ladies!
Rosemary Rushmer was our Utility judge assisted by Helen Sida-Page. Zoe Rafferty ran the gymkhana with the assistance of Jade Urry. Jade was unable to compete after fracturing her collar bone in her fall at the Hunter Trial. We hope you recover quickly Jade but in the mean time we can always find you a job at an event!!
Jane and Kevin Stone worked their little socks off in the show jumping ring assisted by Zoe Rafferty for the Novelty Accumulator class which we hope proved a bit of extra fun for those taking part. If anyone else assisted many thanks I just don’t know who you were!
Michelle Kelly organised the day and did a brilliant job. This was her first Fun Day being in charge. I hope her family and friends realise whats in store for them for the rest of the season as Michelle seems to have persuaded them all to come and help. We are very grateful to everyone that gave their time to help make the day a success. Even those who got roped in at a moments notice like Janet Woolner who unexpectedly got asked to call a dressage test when a competitor had a minor memory failure mid test.
Its called a Fun Day because that is the aim of the day – to provide members with an opportunity to come and have fun competing their equine friends.
If I have missed thanking anyone by name I humbly apologise. It was such a busy day I did not get chance to come round the showground and see all that was going on but believe me we are grateful to everyone of you.

Our next event is the Members Outdoor Dressage at the club field on Sunday 18th May. Entries close SATURDAY 10th MAY. No entries on the day so if you haven’t done so get those entries off ASAP.

Thank you all for such a great fun day. It was Florrie’s first show and her fifth birthday. The dressage judge was very kind and had lots of positive suggestions. The homework was much appreciated. We’re hoping to improve!
