CLUB NEWS, EVENTS, REPORTS

Coming up – our Open Showing Show, Sunday 16th June. Every year we try to offer classes for everyone. Show jumping with course builder Tony Mallet, Working Hunter ring, In-hand and Ridden showing, plus our fun classes, and this year a Fancy dress class. Hopefully something for the more serious shower to the novice ring entrant. Catering available on the day, also ice creams, and tack stall.

On 7th July, BBRC is hosting the Area 14 show jumping & style jumping Qualifier at Geldeston Hall.
And on 21st July we have our 2nd Fun Show, to include dressage, SJ, Utility, Gymkhana and Clear round rustics SJ. A more relaxed day, and lots of fun.

A new event this year, Arena Eventing at the Club field, plus Dressage on the rubber arena. Held on 2nd June. We’re hoping to offer this again later in the year, and to add in more XC type jumps.

At the Eventer Challenge, 12th May, lots of competitors in the lower height classes, 60 and 70cm. Round the show jump course, then straight onto the XC course, and a play through the water, and back into the show jump ring. It was nice to see quite a few non members taking part

Cross Country was held on 14th April.
This is the first year we’ve also offered Clear Round Rustics in the SJ arena, starting at 40cm.
The XC was well attended, especially the 60cm and 70cm classes.

Jess Sergant riding Lily took 1st place for the club in the 60cm class, and Tina Fisher took 1st place overall.
In the 70cm individual section, Megan Owen riding Lightening Silver was 1st place.
Two sections in the 80cm – restricted and open. Kiera Bromley took 1st place in the restricted section, and Laura Leggett took 1st in the open 80cm

Our first Fun Day show this year was on 5th May, the first of the three Fun Days we offer through the summer months. A very well attended show, with lots of fun in all arenas – show jumping, dressage, gymkhana and utility. And this year we’re offering a clear round rustics show jumping ring. This is a more light hearted event.

DRESSAGE, took place on 10th March 2019, held at Humberstone EC, near Great Yarmouth, with test including Lead Rein, Intro, Prelim and Novice. Thanks to all who attended. The standard of riding was excellent. Special congratulations to Jasmine Leeder, on her little pony Bertie, who competed off lead rein in the Intro class, and to Kelly Chaston on Buzz with the highest score of the day at 76%. See our home page for results.

We held our QUIZ EVENING, Friday 22nd February 2019, at Hulver Village Hall. Lovely evening with several teams entering. It was a close finish, with BBRC team just pipping a team from Halesworth & District by half a point

OPEN INDOOR WINTER SHOW JUMPING, was held on 9th Dec 2018, and it was a very well attended event, and lots of fun and Xmas jumpers. Ride and pedal proved a great laugh for competitors. For Results & report, click on tab in right hand side bar

BRC AREA 14 CHAIRMANS TROPHY RESULT

The club is often represented at BRC Area 14 Qualifiers by teams of four. The competitons cover all disciplines. As well as the qualifiers there is an Area only competition at each event and teams are awarded points towards the Chairmans Trophy. (In fact teams can enter the Area only competition if they prefer not to compete in a qualifier that may require them to travel further afield for the Championship). There is a Chairmans Trophy for Seniors and Juniors.
