The club is keen to encourage all ages and abilities to have fun with their horses and ponies, and to help those wishing to improve their skills to do so.

To this end we try to run regular training sessions, especially during the spring and summer on the Club Field. Our new Training Manager, Louise Hawkins (BE Accredited Coach), will be offering several different training opportunities throughout 2019, to include not just horse back activities, but also activities for those on foot, such as discussion evenings. These will be advertised here and on our Facebook page.

Training provided will include flat work, show jumping, and cross country. We aim to keep groups small so that members can benefit from the training session.

The cost is also kept as low as possible.

TRAINING UPDATE

Our training manager, Louise Hawkins, joined the committee earlier this year, and has lots planned.
We’ve already had an evening get together and talk from Stoven Vets on the ‘influence of rider position and horse balance. This was held at the Three Horseshoes pub in February. Louise will also be offering ‘Practical 1st aid for Horses’, ridden clinics, more talks / demos. Watch our Facebook page also for details. Louise is planning fortnightly training on our club field in the warmer, less wet months too.
