Keysoe BE Horse Trials took place over the weekend of 9th May – 11th May.
The following is a report from Georgina Bell.
Keysoe had a new course designer this year and has a complete re route. The new courses were great, however I felt they were very, very tough and well up to height!! The results proved me right. There were problems all over the course in all sections and the conditions didn’t help.
On Friday Louise Hawkins rode ‘Rinroe Supreme’ in Novice section D. She got a 33 dressage, just tapped a pole in the show jumping and did a great clear round a HUGE track to finish 10th.
On Sunday in BE90, section ‘U’, I rode Celia Stone-Potter’s ‘Puddingbag Lane’.
She did an amazing 24.5 dressage and was leading by 3.5 marks. I however had a very costly and rare pole in the showjumping. She flew round the XC and was joint leader. I was slightly further from the optimum time so picked up 2nd place. Still an awesome result and gained a Badminton Grassroots regional qualification.. Yay
Flynn Regan rode ‘Knock on the Head’ and did a 41 dressage. ‘Knock on the Head’ was a tad bright shall we say, but did a fabulous double clear to gain his first foundation point and finished 11th. His best result yet!
Sophie Mills rode Louise Hawkins ‘Coosan Curley’. She got a 34 dressage, they too just rolled one pole in the showjumping and had an unfortunate technical refusal on the cross country for a crossing of tracks. She finished 15th.
In BE90 section I rode Rachel Burton’s’ OBOS What’s the Story’. He did a fabulous 31 dressage followed by a double clear to pick up 3rd once again. He has now got two Badminton Grassroots regional qualifications in two outings… Very good boy!
