EVENTER CHALLENGE RESULTS & REPORT

The Eventer Challenge took place at Geldeston on Sunday 23rd August.

Entries were good and the weather was sunny although breezy and the rain held off until the competition was over.

The show jumping courses were designed and built by Zoe Rafferty and the planks in particular were responsible for adding time to many competitors time total. Sandra was kept pretty busy replacing the top plank throughout the day.

Our members were very successful.

In the Senior 70 cm the first 6 places went to members. Hannah Docwra (Beeches Diamond Dancer) won on a time total of 167.6 which included a 5 sec penalty. June Hall (Merrick Fergus) took second place just 0.4 seconds faster than Sue Stock (Pandora).

The Junior 70cm was won by a new member Grace Weymouth (Glenford Rosie) with a clear round in 159.2 seconds. They went onto secure 4th place in the Junior 80cm class. The Senior 80cm class was won by Lucy Frost (Polly Whisper) who went clear on with a time of 150.2 seconds. Davina Cattermole (Hugo Boss) whizzed round in a faster time but picked up a 5 second penalty which dropped them to second place.

Only 6 competitors tackled the 90cm course. Three juniors and three seniors. All three juniors posted clear rounds with Stella Stearne (Kissimee Rebel) being the quickest in 150 seconds. Club member Oliver Kidner (Freddy Bear) was second in 177.2 seconds. Oliver then went onto secure second place in the Junior 100cm class behind Georgina Roberts (Miss Mariposa).

Pip Davis (Cathedral Rock) went clear in the Senior 90cm class gaining first place ahead of Becca Hill (Killowen Lady) who added 15 time penalties to her time. Lucy Frost (Polly Whisper) was the only member in this class and came third on a time total of 234.3

Charlotte Wright (Cors Grey Diamond) was the only Senior competitor in the 100cm class. She added 15 time penalties to her time so finished on a total of 192.9.

As always we are very grateful to everyone who helped to set up the showground and those that came and helped run the event on the day. I dare not mention by name in case I miss someone but we are indebted to you all for giving us your time and energy. Thanks also to all the competitors who came along and supported the event.
