OUTSTANDING SUCCESS AT THE AREA SHOW AND STYLE JUMPING QUALIFIER

The club hosted the Area 14 show jumping and Style Jumping qualifier at Geldeston Hall on Sunday 24th July.

This is a significant undertaking by the club and a tremendous amount of work was put in by the committee and members to organise and run the event. It was a long hot day but worth the effort. It was a very busy day where the club enjoyed spectacular results.

Once again our juniors performed brilliantly. The Tiger team, consisting of Thom Grayson (Denser), Ellie Mitchell (Summer Lovin’), Charlie Fairchild (Charlie) and Imogen Sheldrake (Glenvilla Belle) won the Junior Novice Qualifier on a total of just 4 penalties. The Charlies also won it as an individual.

Leanne Kelly (Dylan) took second place as an individual.

The Junior Intermediate team also won their class. This team consisted of Georgia Cattermole (Wise Dennis), Georgia Wright (Davinci W), Ollie Kidner (Freddy) and Alice Able (Seafield Park Pedlar). They produced a magnificent final score of 0 with only one pole down between the four riders over two rounds.

In the Style jumping our juniors had to settle for second place with a final score of 16 behind Halesworth who won on an impressive score of just 6.

The seniors obviously decided that it was time to join our juniors at the Championships.

In the senior Novice class the BBRC Bees won the class on a final score of 12. The team consisted of Davina Cattermole (Hugo), Emma Julian (Irish Magic), Helen Yallop (Zakanaker) and Lucy Frost (Polly Whispers) with Lucy producing a double clear.

Sam Palmer (Foreigner of the Lowlands), Connor Sharpe (A Dark Imoo), Steve Small (Marcel Midnight Rae) and Jade Urry (Temple Millhouse) were the team who represented the club in the Intermediate class. Their final score of 8 secured them 2nd place behind High Fenn ‘Hotshots’ who won on  score of 4.

There was no winning team in the Open class but our very own Louise Hawkins (Rinrose Supreme) took second place.

In the Senior Style competition the team went one better than the juniors. The team consisting of Helen Yallop (Zakanaker), Zoe Rafferty (Alfie), Jasmine Harber (Rolo) and June Hall (Major) took first place ahead of the Finn Valley team.

It was  a great set of results for the club with many of our members having the chance to attend the National Championships in September BRC conformation permitting. Congratulations to all of you. The club is full of wonderfully talented and dedicated riders.

As always we are deeply indebted to our volunteers who assisted on the day.
