The Spring Hunter Trial took place at Geldeston on Sunday 26th April.
Laura Leggett & 'Charlie Bear'
The wet weather forecast never really appeared and the sun shone for the best part of the day which meant the entries were very good.
Class 1 over the 70cm course was very busy and saw a good number of clear rounds. It was particularly successful for club members as the first six places went to club members with Laura Leggett and ‘Charlie Bear’ winning the class.
The Pairs ran over the same course and there was an impressive 18 pairs contesting the class. The winner were Sky and Rick Leeson on ‘Dennis the Menace’ and ‘Vinnie’. They are a formidable pair as they have won this class at our Hunter Trials on a number of occasions.
New members Jack Wilmot on ‘Digger’ and Elle Doy on ‘Foxcovert Lordez’ were the only members in the Pairs class. They finished with a penalty score of 160 but were very nimble through the timed section setting a time of just 48.84 secs.
Davina Cattermole & 'Hugo Boss'
Class 3 ran over the 80cm course and had a restricted and an open section. The restricted section was won by club member Davina Cattermole and ‘Hugo Boss’ with a clear round and a time of 48.35 secs through the timed section. The open section was won by Justin Hollis and ‘Highland Star’ who had a faultless round and a winning time of 47.13 i the timed section. The best placed member was Kelly Chaston riding ‘Pewter’ who finished fourth.
Class 4 ran over the 90 cm and was hotly contested with eleven clear rounds. The winner was Daisy Murray and ‘Churchside Garnet’ with the best place member being Georgia Wright and ‘Pumpkin Pie’ who came second.
