OPEN OUTDOOR DRESSAGE RESULTS – SUNDAY 8TH MAY

Our Outdoor Dressage competition took place on the club field at Hall Farm, Geldeston on Sunday 8th May.

It was a beautiful day and almost too warm – are we never happy with the weather?!

This was the first year that this competition was open to all and we were pleased to see about six non members taking part.

Leah Fairchild riding Spot was very successful winning the Intro B with over 70% and then taking the top spot in the Junior Prelim 7 with another very respectable score.
Laura Leggett riding Charlie Bear won the remaining two Junior classes and although she was the only competitor in the Junior Prelim 14 she was only 2% under her winning score in the Junior Prelim 12 so it was a well deserved win.

Unusually few Seniors contested the Restricted Prelim 7 with Connor Sharpe riding Miss Moneypenny pipping Ann McVicar and Florrie to first place.

The Open Senior Prelim 12 was well supported. Non member Jackie Lambert and Brave Archer won with an impressive score of 71.4 with member Lee Wright and Vinnie just 1.2% behind on 70.2%.

Lee Wright went on to have a very successful day. She rode two horses in Class 7 a percentage class and managed to take first place with Vinnie who performed a Prelim 14 to a score of 72.5 and then secured second place with Ruby riding a Novice 24 test with a score of 71.92%.

The final class was another percentage class with Novice 30 or Elementary 44 being the tests on offer. There were four competitors with 2 Novice tests and two Elementary tests being ridden.
Non member Jackie Aarons riding Talisman scored 64.04% in her Novice test to take first place ahead of lomg time member Ruth Harris and Dan who scored 63.8% with their Elementary test.

We are very grateful to our judges of the day, Jackie Hagan and Dena Green, ably assist by our writers Claire Bodmer, Tracey Able and Gill Oliver. Thanks also to our scorer Janet Woolner who was assisted later in the day by Helen Yallop.
We must not forget our hard working runners David Harris and Paul Woolner who ensured the scorer was well supplied with the score sheets and Ann McVicar who ensured our helpers were well watered in the heat. Finally thanks to Trish Harris for manning the secretary’s tent and making sure everything worked. It is an over used phrase but still very true that without these people giving up their time to help run events they couldn’t happen. So THANK YOU to all of you and any that I have forgotten to mention.
